Also you can use Google Gadgets with GWT. http://code.google.com/docreader/#p=gwt-google-apis&s=gwt-google-apis&t=Gadgets Finally, Google also hosts & uses other open source ajax libs beyond YUI: http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxlibs/documentation/ I would argue that Google Wave is the proof of concept for GWT, with Gmail being the precursor.
