Yes. This has been observed and commented on. I've been using Firefox 3.5.7 (on Linux) because of this.
This morning I was alerted to an update to the GWT plugin, and installed it (v.1.0.7511). However it still does not work with Firefox 3.6. When I try using it, Firefox 3.6 just asks for, downloads, and installs the plugin over and over again.
