No, there is nothing special for ASP.Net.

In general a GWT application is a real client application, that can use a RESTful web service to request data from a server. So developing a GWT application is like developing a desktop application, that runs inside the browser. So it should be easy to develop both (client and server) as separate projects and just define a RESTful API between both.
