I finally found the exact cause of the problem ! Ignore the 64bit story. It has to do with the adblock plugin. If you install this in Chrome some GWT stuff won't work anymore. I just disabled it and all is working now... I also noted more stuff than only the TabPanel was failing on other GWT websites...
Now where should I submit a bugreport for this.... GWT ? Chrome ? Addblock ?
