that is how it looks like. just check the number of open issues... it
seems that the core developers are more concerned about more
features(ie. the new data driven widgets) than to consolidate old
ones.
my  experience is that the provided widgets are too heavy (they try to
do too much) and this is why they are so buggy and the generated
markup is offen not the "best".
this is why we built our own widgets. Some extending/fixing the
provided widgets others completely new. and so we do not care much
about this kind of bugs...
