I created a bug this week as I didn't know that BeforeSelectionEvent.fire will return null if no handlers have been declared in the current "page" (the scope of the static field BeforeSelectionEvent.TYPE).
Half my unit tests should have failed but one of the first tests to run (by chance) did register a handler. With pure Java I'd probably think it was bad design and think about clearing the field with introspection (I know horrible). Am I being stupid? Any nice ways to improve my unit tests?
