Problem solved. On my machine, I had to
cd /usr/lib64;sudo ln -s libnspr4.so libnspr4.so.0d
and then to remove compreg.dat from the Firefox profile directory
(Help -> Troubleshooting Information..., Profile Directory: Open
Containing Folder) and to restart Firefox. Thanks, Craig!
