You probably want to ignore the proxy for the whole loopback network so try 127.0.0.0/8 (which obviously includes localhost. I'm running Eclipse 3.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 and using the Maven plugin to start my hosted mode environment and it's commonly using 127.0.1.1.
