You need to use a SingleSelectionModel.

    SingleSelectionModel mySelectionModel =
new SingleSelectionModel<Mode>();
   table.setSelectionModel(mySelectionModel);
mySelectionModel.addSelectionChangeHandler(mySelectionChangeHandler);
