Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll just create my template project, and copy, import it then. This maven plugin seemed a bit overkill just for this, and I couldn't even uninstall it. I had to delete its files manually. I'm pretty sure I won't install it again. I found something in the eclipse plugin development help though. And I think it is possible to create a plugin just for that. Maybe I'll check it out later, when I'll have time.
