Yeah, text is very rarely the bottle neck in most current web pages. The difference of data to transfer one sentence vs. all in a paragraph is not much. I would guess it is far less then the overhead of making another RPC call to get the requested paragraph. I would make it easier on yourself, send the entire text, display the first LENGTH characters and then on click display them all.
