In theory<http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/DevGuideRequestFactory.html#relationships> ContractProxy is the only object you need to edit().
Not sure that what applies to entity proxies also applies to value proxies (the documentation was written before value proxies were introduced, so it may apply as well) Out of curiosity, why ContractProxy is value proxy?
