Did you create a ValueProxy for the Range, to use it with RequestFactory? (there's no such restriction, except that *.client.* classes might not be in the gwt-servlet.jar that you deploy on the server-side) Given the need to create a ValueProxy, I'd rather suggest you create your own Range class for use on server-side.
