True, Salvador's suggestion is one approach, but the problem with following the suggestion is that its contrary to the setup you get out of the box by importing a project generated by the gwt-maven- archetype, i.e. hosted mode for the imported project uses src/main/ webapp. Personally, I like the approach of using the maven-clean- plugin to clean unwanted dirs.
