...or, similarly to a native preview handler, you could filter events at the FocusPanel level (i.e. within the same handler that processes them). You'd have to check the getNativeEvent().getEventTarget(), casting it to an Element and checking if it's a "text entry" (i.e. looking at its getTagName, comparing it with "input" and/or "textarea").
