Make sure you have the gwt-servlet.jar from GWT SDK 2.3.0 in your WEB-INF/lib folder. Sometimes Eclipse does not update that jar file if you upgrade to GWT 2.3.0. Just copy it from the GWT Plugin folder to you WEB-INF/lib folder.
