Oh yeah small typo in my MainActivityMapper example. It has to be:
if(place instanceof XYZPlace) {
this.lastActivity = new XYZActivity(place);
return this.lastActivity;
} else if(....) {.....} .....
So its just implemented as a field that stores the activity. Nothing fancy
