Windows is supported. Also, the trunk prebuilt xpi and the one served
through the auto updater are exactly the same (I just double checked this
myself)

is: fdae31ce05d5df5aae55abe62af7bb8f4143e0a8

The only explanation I can think is perhaps you installed an earlier version
from trunk before we released and then Firefox disabled it and any updates?
