This is a well known issue and has been discussed several times in this forum. Have a search. Bottom line: FF is updating it's browsers too fast at this moment such that the latest versions (> 7) aren't supported by the plugin yet (almost impossible to keep up2date with the current FF updates).
Before you upgrade your browser, please first consult the GWT documentation to see if it's supported. Solution: uninstall FF and install FF 6.
