There seems to be cases where GWTTestCase fails. One example I have run into is when trying to do a SmartGWT DMI RPC call within the GWTTestCase.
SmartClient seems to think there may be an issue in the GWTTestCase that is causing this. Here is a couple of posts referencing this on their forums.
