In the gwt world we usually don't navigate the user to new page, but instead replace the content of our container widget. E.g. You have two panels: one for the navigation buttons and an other for the page content. You can replace the content easily in the page content containing panel by clicking on any of the buttons in the other panel. I am not too sure, but is this what you need?
