This is the link to the patch: https://github.com/nmorel/gwt-issue7139/wiki I've edited the patche's *.gwt.xml to use this solution for ie9 as well and it worked. In conclusion, this is what I understand: DataGrid on GWT 2.5.0, when using IE (9 or 10), does not catch click events (and all other kinds of events) unless you click on a row which is already selected.
