Well then you probably have to debug. From what I can tell if I receive 
NULL on the client then I have send NULL on the server. I have never seen 
"disappearing" data if serializable classes are implemented correctly in 
terms auf GWT-RPC requirements. To see RPC payloads on the console you can 
use the JVM parameter -Dgwt.rpc.dumpPayload=true

This helps quite a lot to understand the payload.
