IMHO, Flash was a great solution that was killed by politics and corporate short signtedness. Yes, implementing controls is a big job but:
A. It only has to be done once. B. There are many open-source packages that already do this that can be leveraged off of. The benefits I espoused in my original message make this worth it IMO. Additionally. trying to make HTML code portable across various browser types, versions, an unknown future, and unknown politics is a constant and risky business. Divorcing from HTML drastically reduces all of these problems.
