I also threw the above steps up online <http://lustforge.com/2014/06/12/restoring-the-chrome-gwt-devmode-plugin/> so hopefully others can work around this for now if they've got code that must be deved/shipped pronto. If you're seriously perturbed, you can always contribute to a solution, which I believe is the SDBG Eclipse plugin <https://github.com/sdbg/sdbg>.
