I bet you shouldn't have that "samples/hellomaps/src/" (or "samples.hellomaps.src.") prefix. The sources are "rooted" at samples/hellomaps/src/, and inside that folder you have a pckage com.google.gwt.maps.sample.hellomaps and a module com.google.gwt.maps.sample.hellomaps.HelloMaps.
