I understand that moving a SVG file into the defs section into a SVG
element is specific to the SVG library used, in this case Snap.svg.
So I opened a thread in a Snap group:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/snapsvg/8RsMMUaPPCI

But it seems that this requirement cannot be fulfilled with Snap.

I would like to know your opinion: Is this a weakness of this SVG library
or can you do it by accessing the DOM directly?
Or would it be better to use another library, e. g. svg.js?
