I think you can make it work, but it's not that easy:

   - use a custom linker that extends CrossSiteIframeLinker and overrides 
   getJsDevModeRedirectHookPermitted

An alternative could be to setup a reverseproxy to your remote server to 
see it locally as HTTP?
