GWT 2.7. has removed a runtime check if JSON.parse() is available in the browser because GWT 2.7. does not support IE6/7 anymore and JSON.parse() is available in IE 8+ when in standards mode.
So maybe these users launch your app in compatibility view / quirks mode for whatever reason.
