Dear Brad: There should be a CCR profile for cardiology data. We at
ASTM E31 have had conversations with a number of the physician
specialty organizations about creating specific profiles of the CCR
standard that would serve the needs for specific use-cases, e.g.
cardiologist-to-referring-primary-care-provider, or orthopedist-to-
another-orthopedist.

The content for these specific clinical CCR profiles ought to come
from the domain experts, and include additional references or links to
appropriate information, e.g. EKG tracings or images.

So far, this is slow going. But I believe that the interest will grow
and develop during the next 12 months. One venue for these
discussions is the Physicians EHR Coalition, which is now chaired by
Tom Sullivan, MD, who is a cardiologist. I'm copying him on this
email and suggest that you speak with him on this topic.

With very kind regards, and thanks to all of you doing this fine work.

DCK
