Ahh OK I believe I misunderstood your original question. I am using the client login APIs for my app. My only guess is maybe it has to do with the types of tokens used? I can't claim to know much further. For my uses I downloaded the examples for the Google Data APIs which includes Health and the other components as well. Maye there will be something there to help you.
