Hi Peter, We do quite a bit of testing to help ensure that our APIs don't change inadvertently, but unfortunately didn't catch this change. We apologize for letting this issue slip though. I'll definitely look into options for change notifications that will help make developers aware of updates.
One option is to use the API changelog at the following location, which includes an RSS feed. We hadn't updated this chagelog since the latest update didn't include any protocol-level changes, but we could use it for broader updates as well. http://code.google.com/apis/health/changelog.html Thanks a lot for the ideas.
