Just to add a counter-argument to this thread, I may be the lone user who *doesn't* want alarms reinstated...! The reason being that when I sync appointments from my Outlook calendar via Goosync, Google calendar sends out alarms/reminders to *all* the invitees, meaning people at work get email reminders from my gmail address!
