Hi Tim Thanks for the post. Just to clear this up, you don't actually get any duplicate events on your device is that right? The only thing that is duplicated are the categories.
This is odd, when a event is sent to the device and the category already exists it shouldn't add it again but just link the event to the existing category.If the category doesn't exist the device will create it and link the event to it. If it is just the category names that are duplicated on the device then it will be safe for you to delete the duplicates without affecting anything.
