Hi John To change to categories you need to goto the My Device page and click Delete Device
Then select your Palm device again and Authenticate your Google Account on the My Google Page. Then you can goto the My Device->Calendars page and you should be given a choice of tags or categories. If this is no the case please let me know and I'll investigate this further.
