Slowly whittling it down. It appears I used the wrong option for burning the CD in Burn. Should have used Copy/Disk Image, which recreated a Bootable CD on the second attempt.
Still fairly fraught, assorted crashes during the CD boot, but eventually I had gOS on-screen. It wouldn't allow me to install onto the HD without going via the Desktop. The installation process trundles on even as we speak. Hopefully the HD version will sort itself out. The crashes or should I say stumbles dropped into a black screen with white writing and seemed to be related to the a network manager/ethernet and the expectation that bluetooth would be present. It isn't of course, but USB is, although so far gOS hasn't recognised my USB mouse. The stumbles eventually timed out and the launch process continued --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gOS Linux" group.
