Nevermind, fixed the problem myself. I guess its the same solution for anyone with CRT that supports a max resolution of 1024x768.
Solution: after livecd loads and in the process of opening up the bootscreen(which it wont eventually), press CTRL+ALT+F1 rename xorg.conf then generate a new one with 1024x768 as the resolution then load gdm again.
