I'm in the process of putting together a new system for my in-laws.
They aren't computer savvy at all, really. They just barely get by in
Windows, and have some many problems there that I'd like to switch
them to Linux, and gOS looks about right for them.

I downloaded and installed the 3.0 beta on the new system. Everything
was easy for me (but I have used Linux for a while, but not as a
desktop OS for some time now). The login screen is going to be a big
problem for them. They are used to the Windows XP welcome screen, so
I need to get icons that they click on for their users. I found the
configuration for it, but no options that would obviously add the
list. Any suggestions for adding that?

They don't know computers well enough for the title bar button
location to be a problem, but wouldn't it be better to have different
icons for them to indicate what they do without hovering over them?

I've been getting errors about the fast user switching not loading
properly when I log in, I don't know what the problem there is, but
I've just disabled it on each account.

The logout/shutdown dialog box is a bit busy for someone not used to
it. Is there a way to greatly reduce the options listed in it? All I
really need are logout, shutdown, and restart.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Jim
