Well, some older BIOS have a problem with modern CD boot mechanisms,
and it seems the first gOS used a different boot mechanism than all
later versions. One trick I used before I abandoned my (very) old AMD-
K6/2 based PC, to boot newer versions of gOS than 1.0, was to boot an
Ubuntu live_CD, into the boot menu, then switch the CD to a gOS CD
before pressing enter to start to load the linux kernel, and gOS.
I heard some people has success with a boot floppy that ran a CD-boot
program, and in the past I used a small Windows program on the live_cd
that restarted the system, and then booted the CD without using the
BIOS to do it.
