If you want to update to the latest version of gOS from the gOS Gadgets Beta then you have two options.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- First access Synaptic Package Manager or the Add/Remove utility and add File Backup Manager, package name 'pybackpack'. Then backup the contents of your Home Folder to a CD, DVD, or USB. You can then perform a normal installation of Gadgets, re add your home folder contents to the system, and reboot. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Secondarily this may be a possible way to upgrade, though it may be a hack-ish and not necessarily the recommended method though it has been tested and worked. Please feel free to test it if you'd like and post your results here. Add our repository to your system via Menu -> System Preferences -> Administration -> Software Sources and add the following sources list under the third party software tab deb http://software.thinkgos.com/ gadgets main Then using the terminal run the command: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gmenu gos-gdm-theme gos-wallpapers gos-icon-theme gos-usplash-theme wbarconf gos-skel-gadgets Once the downloads and installations are complete, reboot and you should be using the latest package builds with configuration fixes that are in Gadgets Final. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gOS Linux" group.
