I tried to run the newest gOS as a live CD on an old 2 GHz Compaq laptop with 256 MB of ram. I get the gOS splash page, which gives way to a plain green screen on which I can move the cursor around. But, after that I get what's mostly a grey screen. It seems to try to load what must be a gadget in the upper left corner of the screen. But, it's simply a white rectangle, that sometimes disappears after a few minutes. And then that's about it. I'm never able to see the gOS desktop or do anything except hit the power button and turn the laptop off.
The CD works on my beefier desktop machine, so I know that the CD is fine. The laptop is under the gOS minimum RAM requirements, but not by much. Could that be the problem? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gOS Linux" group.
