I just installed gOS 3 and everything works out of the box besides the wireless. It detects the atheros 802.11 card under 'hardware drivers' and has them enabled by default. But unfortunately the card doesn't seem to respond and when i try to enter 'network settings' I need to unlock by enter the administrator password, but entering the correct password doesn't take so it repeatedly asks until it fails and jumps back.
To test any network connectivity i plugged in a cat-5 cable in the lan port and the internet works flawless through the wired card. While connected to the net i updated every package available through 'update manager'. Still no avail. Next I check the acer aspire one user forums and attempted a hack/ tweak to install madwifi drivers for the car for ubuntu (http:// www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=164&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=ubuntu), I downloaded and unpacked the correct package but I can't seem to enter the 'make' commands whatsoever when I use the guide in that link. What gives?! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gOS Linux" group.
