Hi BarefootSanders,

Rest assured you'll be able to run your development tools. I have
three installs of gOS (2.9M for my Cloudbook, 3.0 Beta for my
development machine, and 3.0 Beta as a traffic Generator). I work for
a Telecommunication company and need something that works well and is
stable. I was (and still for other machines) a user of Ubuntu that I
liked very much but I wanted to give gOS a change as I love their
desktop environment (a little Mac looking but still very linuxy).
Anyhow, I have Eclipse Ganymene running and compiling Java
applications (one of which is 35 000 classes) without a hitch. And as
I listed before, I even took an older pc with 6 NICs and installed gOS
to use as a traffic generator for my network. I installed an
application called packEth (compiled for Ubuntu but works with gOS for
reasons that you probably know by now). The machine has been running
for 30 days without a single problem while generating 350 Mb/s worth
of traffic. How's that ?

Hope that this information helps you a little in your decision to try
it out in a Development Environment.
Cheers...
