you can open systems-administration-hardware drivers and see if it shows it
if it does you can check it and it will download and install the firmware
for it if not open your terminal type iwconfig to see if it shows up then
see if it gives you an essid if not try to scan it by typing sudo iwlist
(then what ever iwconfig named it like ath0) scan so it would be sudo iwlist
ath0 scan then it will give it a name then copy the essid name type iwconfig
ath0 essid (then the essid name) then type dhclient ath0 and see if that
works good luck
