Remove gOS Main Menu from your panel and in its place put the normal Gnome Main Menu.
The gMenu is made primarily for inexperienced or office users who need quicker access to the Places and Recent Document sections, and who may also be used to the Windows way of doing things which is just hitting the super button to get your menu.
