What is "the box", does it have card slots, in that case try a USB-
Master card, to add a more reliable USB master, maybe the built in one
is damaged somehow..
Another problem might be that the USB port you are using cannot
deliver the power that the drive needs, in which case trying to power
the drive with an external adapter (if possible) might help, or you
can try to connect the player through a hub with an external power
supply that might be able to deliver the needed power to the drive.
