I don't really know what your saying but if the applet is still present then try left clicking and just heading into manual configuration. Make sure your settings are right. Or go to Menu --> Admin --> Netbook
If your applet disappeared try hitting <Alt>F2 and typing nm-applet If what your saying is your wireless card isn't being detected, I'm not that familiar with the Sylvania as I donot have one. But you could give me the hardware specs and I'll see what I can do. Open a terminal and type lspci And E-Mail me the results.
