How? You run the installer (the green CD Icon) on the desktop, and when the time comes and the disk manager (partitioner) asks how you want the hard-disk to be used, choose "assisted, use whole disk", and the installer will use your whole disk for gOS.
If you want to save any document, or multimedia files, from XP, you should save them to a memory-stick, or burn them to CD/DVD before installing gOS, as the installer will throw away anything on the hard- disk before using it for gOS.
