Any help greatly appreciated. I formatted my netbook so that I could drive windows XP home edition on it. Ran fine everything worked. Problem is I went to dialysis one day and lost the USB thumbdrive i used to install Windows. For some reason my install wouldn't boot unless that thumbdrive was inserted. I could take it out after the boot but if it wasn't in there during boot I get an error saying hal.dll or somethign like that is missing. Now that i lost that thumbdrive i can't boot into windows so I tried to install gOS3 onto the netbook but for some reason other things i try to boot from don't work and i dont' have a USB CD or DVD drive. Anyone have similar problem or a solution to help me out. I also tried installing Arch linux on there. I've tried pen drive linux instructions and unetbootin installers but nothing is working. First thing I tried with is an old 4GB external hard drive. Not a thumb drive it's one of the older models that actually has disk based hard drive in it. Next i tried my usb microSD card reader with a 2GB card in it with no luck. I don't have anything else to boot off of. I looked in the bios to see if i could boot over lan but that wasn't an option available. Can someone please point me in the right direction? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gOS Linux" group.
