Download the .ISO, burn it as an .ISO image with the "burn image"
function (do NOT simply burn the file, or its contents to a CD, it
will NOT work, your software must use a specific "burn image"
function, to burn an exact copy (image) of the CD. Burn the CD at the
lowest possible speed to get a CD that is as reliable as possible! Set
the BIOS of your computer so it will attempt to boot CD's, then boot
the CD, and in no time at all you will have gOS running, purely from
the CD, it does NOT touch or use your hard-disk at all.
To install it permanently (so you get a system working at normal
speed, and being able to install stuff), you run the installer on the
desktop. If you want to throw away what is on your hard-disk and
replace it with gOS, just go ahead, and run the installer and choose
"use whole disk" when offered the choice.
When you have a Windows system you want to keep, but share the hard-
disk with gOS, first run Windows and backup any files you cannot stand
to loose, for example family pictures you stored on the hard-disk,
then run the disk defragmentation system tool, and let it finish
completely then shut down without problems (there shouldn't be errors
in the filing systems, as gOS cannot handle that when making the
windows partition smaller. Boot gOS again, and run the installer, and
choose the share disk option, dragging the dragbar to the size of each
part, the left part of the dragbar is the size remaining for windows.
gOS will be installed in the new freed space, and afterward a boot
menu will be installed ("grub"), which will be presented at boot time,
so you can choose the OS to boot.
